Notice

We do not give migration advice

Career Calling New to Australia helps with employment and study only. This notice explains what that means for you.

We do not give migration advice. For visa questions, speak to a registered migration agent (check the register at mara.gov.au) or the Department of Home Affairs.

What we help with

  • Finding work and understanding how hiring works in Australia
  • Finding the official body that assesses or registers your occupation
  • Local experience, volunteering and references
  • Australian-style resumes and cover letters
  • Workplace culture programs and interview practice
  • Study pathways and courses

What we do not do

  • We do not give visa or migration advice.
  • We do not comment on whether you can get, keep or change a visa.
  • We do not explain visa conditions, including whether a visa lets you work or study.
  • We do not help with visa applications or skills assessments for visa purposes.

In Australia, people who give immigration assistance must be registered, unless an exemption applies. A registered migration agent can give you advice about your own situation.

Where to get migration advice

Asking us for a referral

On our contact form you can choose "Refer me to a registered migration agent". Choosing it only records your request. Our team then contacts you about a referral to a registered migration agent. We do not give the advice ourselves, and any advice comes from the agent, who is responsible for it.

Your rights at work

Workplace rights are a separate topic from visas. The Fair Work Ombudsman gives free information about pay and conditions for everyone working in Australia.
